Noramibu is an English-language, text roleplay community in a fictional feudal Japanese province with light fantasy. Everyday life, craft, trade and player stories share one world. You do not need Japanese or specialist historical knowledge to take part.

1. Respect the people behind the characters

Keep out-of-character disagreements civil. Harassment, discrimination, threats, sharing private information, cheating and exploiting bugs are prohibited. Report problems through Private Support; keep private application details and staff discussions out of public disputes.

2. Keep character knowledge separate

Your character may use what they have learned in play. Forum posts, Discord conversations, account names and technical logs do not automatically become character knowledge. A character title or office does not give its player moderation powers.

3. Write clear, playable scenes

Roleplay is in English and uses local text, shouts, /me and /do. Simple, understandable English is welcome. Use /me for actions and attempts, and /do for observable scene information. Leave other players room to respond; neither command grants automatic success or authority over another character.

4. Resolve conflict fairly

Crime and injury attempts can occur in town when they have a proportionate in-character reason and follow the published scene rules; advance mutual consent is not required for every attempt. An attempt is not an automatic result. Establish the applicable narrative or light mechanical method before resolving a scene and do not change it after seeing the outcome. Ordinary typing time is not automatic defeat. When the method or loss limits are unclear, pause the disputed consequence and ask staff.

5. Keep serious losses bounded

A minor crime scene does not automatically permit permanent death, permanent disability, complete inventory or wealth loss, home destruction, or emptying offline storage. Serious consequences need a separately published process and limits. Until those limits exist, do not impose them. Repeated targeting must not prevent another player from participating in ordinary community life.

6. Earn what your character has

A biography cannot create money, equipment, mastery, property or office. Learn through play, practice, books and recipe discovery. Mentorship is voluntary. Special roles, businesses and plots use their own review process.

7. Use your own verified accounts

Server entry requires an eligible forum account, a verified game-account link, current whitelist approval and an owned, approved playable character. Discord linking is optional unless the published server policy says otherwise; it does not replace game ownership or approval. Do not share linking codes or use someone else's identity.

8. Applications and review

Submit your own work and accept the current rules version. Staff may request changes with feedback. Important changes to approved character information require review. Private applications are visible only to their owner and authorized administrators. Keep real identity documents, birth dates and passwords out of applications. Use Private Support to raise a concern about a decision.

Some systems are still being tested. A feature appearing in these rules does not mean it is already enabled. Additional scene limits and available mechanics will be published before those activities open.
